Intro to Fashion Sewing: Grades 4-8

This beginner class teaches students sewing skills and fundamental garment construction techniques and is a foundation for 200 level classes. You will learn how to operate the sewing and serger machines, safely use the iron, sketch and illustrate designs and prepares you to begin using patterns and tutorials independently. 

PROJECTS FOCUS ON:

  • garment construction and fitting

  • Basic hand drawn fashion Illustration

  • fabric choice, pattern manipulation

  • garment construction

  • sewing machine usage and mastery

  • professional finishing techniques

During class you will make the FashionKit Shopper Tote, Sunday Shorts (Lounge pants in winter), and an infinity scarf, learn how to use the sewing machine, iron, and serger. Premium quality textiles and notions included. *Prerequisite for 200 Level Courses
