Why We Love It

Although the Sparrow 30 is a feature-rich machine, it’s still a powerhouse when it comes to sewing. This machine offers professional-level results without an ultra-high price tag. At this price point, it would be a challenge to find another machine that offers so many features and the same level of quality.

Our favorite Eversewn Sparrow 30 features:

  • 7mm stitch width and 15 Needle positions
The machines we teach on have 2 needle positions which means you have to position your fabric more instead of positioning the needle. For more detailed work numerous needle positions is a key feature

  • Needle up/down button
Younger sewists love this feature because they don't have to worry about which way to turn the manual wheel

  • Automatic thread cutter
Helpful feature for beginners because it eliminates a lot of frustration while saving time.

  • Included extension table
The Sparrow 30 includes a detachable table. At $60 to purchase separately it makes the Sparrow 30 a very good value.

  • 850 stitches per minute

  • Slide speed control

  • Automatic needle threader

  • Drop in bobbin

  • Hundreds of stitches

    and…It's PINK!!

Why don't we sell the Brother machines we teach on?

If you come to the studio you will notice we do not teach all our students on Eversewn machines. But you will also notice we do not sell the Brother machines we teach on. The reason boils down to one feature which we believe is not necessary in a personal machine but makes the world of difference when teaching a group of beginners and children. That feature is a sensor which reminds you to put the presser foot down before you sew. If you are a total newbie you will forget sometimes to put your presser foot down. When you begin to sew your bobin will get all tangled and you will stop sewing, untangle the mess, learn your lesson, and continue on. Multiply that experience by 8 with one teacher bouncing around the room untangling bobins and you can see why we use a machine that has a sensor. That being said, most machines don't have that feature, but they do often have many more fantastic features our teaching machines don't have. The Eversewn Sparrow is such a machine AND at a reasonable price point for all the features included.

Why don't we feature a mechanical machine?

This is a great question. We have found our students want to purchase machines similar to the machines they learn on. We use computerized machines with drop in bobbins. That is not to say a mechanical machine with a side loading bobbin isn't a work horse of a machine. The big differences are number of stitches, dials instead of buttons, no LCD screen, no needle up/down button (manual hand wheel), side loading bobbin, and a few others. Our students are used to the features common to computerized machines so those are the machines we carry. Eversewn does make a nice mechanical machine, The Sparrow 15, which you can check out here. We sell this machine for $189 and we are happy to place an order for you if you contact us
