PILLOWS. CURTAINS. STORAGE. SET THE TABLE.
In our home decor series you will learn how to create the simple things that make your home a home so you can re-create them again and again as your style or just the season changes. You will receive 15 hours of sewing instruction and practice plus a new vocabulary that will have you tackling projects with confidence instead of overwhelm.
This series is for beginners who are familiar with a sewing machine. Never sewn before? We recommend the Adult Beginner Bootcamp or equivalent (having 4-5 projects under your belt) before you take this course.
TELL ME MORE…
This is a fast paced course packed with a lot of information. The purpose of this course is not to finish 3 sets of curtains or build a collection of throw pillows for your sofa...but you will complete one sample in each category and end the course armed with skills and techniques to take on home decor projects on your own with confidence. And we give you resources to access that information later.
To best allow you to work at your own pace and practice new skills we include weekly Seamsters Lounge FREE during the course AND for 1 month after! This is open studio time attended by an instructor to answer questions and help if you get stuck.
We use the book School of Sewing by Shea Henderson as a text. You can order it on amazon or purchase in class for $20.
Basic fabrics are included in the class for all projects except curtains. We will discuss your fabric requirements for curtains during the first class. Prior to the start of class you will receive a list of fabrics, trims, and yardage needed to complete the course as you may have something special you want to use for a project. .
For any of the projects you are welcome to use our standard fabrics and remnants, purchase our premium fabrics in 1/4 yard increments for $12-$16 per yard, or bring your own.
