Make your first quilt!

If you’re looking for a fun beginner class that gives you an immense feeling of accomplishment then you are in the right place!

For this class we will use the versatile and easily constructed ½ Triangle Square design. 1/2 triangle squares add directionality and can be used to create any number of different blocks. There are limitless designs and looks possible using this one simple block. Beware!…you may become addicted.

Course covers:

  • Basic quilting information and techniques to create ½ triangle squares

  • How to make different blocks like pinwheels, flying geese etc.

  • How to develop or select a design that integrates ½ triangle squares and tips on selecting fabric

  • How to cut fabric. Proper use of rotary cutters and grid rulers

  • What are blocks and how to make them

  • Piecing your quilt together

  • Binding your quilt

Finished size: 40” x 48” baby quilt OR 60” x 72” lap quilt

Materials: All tools and notions and batting are included. You supply fabric per the class supply list which you receive upon registration. OR you can purchase fabric from us in the studio for $5-$12 per yard.
